The "karchive" plugin is incomplete and was not supposed to be enabled
by default. Some random guy enabled it for no reason at all. I asked
him to revert the commit (as I had no means to access SVN at the
time), but he ignored me. Don't use it, it can cause data loss.

I am the maintainer. In the last few months I got some health
problems, so Ark wasn't quite finished for the release. It shouldn't
have been part of the release, but I was stuck with a Windows-only
machine without any development tools until quite recently, so there
was nothing I could do. I'm setting up a development environment now,
and plan to finish it for 4.1 (for 4.0.x it is impossible, due to
things such as missing features that would need to be implemented and
new strings).

They seem nice, but I still don't have a way to test them. Thanks for
the patches. You don't have to worry about the karchive plugin,
though, it's junk that will most likely be removed (or at least
completely rewritten).
