KDE 4.0, login problem.

Hi,

I have compiled kde 4.0 from tarballs that are at kde.org.
It was working good, but I reinstalled my ubuntu 7.10 gutsty amd64 system.
The KDE4 folder was on another partition so it is still stays there.
I have recreated a ".desktop" file which is named "kde4.desktop" under "/usr/share/xsession/".
Here it is;

----------------------kde4.desktop-file begins----------------------
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Type=XSession
Exec=/media/sda8/KDE4/kde/bin/startkde
TryExec=/media/sda8/KDE4/kde/bin/startkde
Name=KDE4
----------------------file-ends-------------------------------------

Now I can see KDE4 option in my gdm session section. But if I choose to start with KDE4, a small
X window popups in a black screen, says that "Could not start kstartupconfig4. Check your installation."
What can I do now. I dont want to rebuild the whole sources again.
And please don't advise to use kubuntu packages, because I have no internet connection at home.
I added "/media/sda8/KDE4/kde/bin" to "/etc/environmets", but nothing changed.
Is there any other files that needs to be edited?

Thanks...
