- Subject: [kde-linux] NVIDIA configuration
I am running Debian Etch 4.0. Last time I ran the update and it got me a new
kernel :
$ uname -a
Linux paulandcilla 2.6.18-5-686 #1 SMP Wed Sep 26 17:54:59 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux
when I rebooted my Xwindows didn't work with driver nvidia. When I changed it
to nv xwindows comes up, so ai reran dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg a few
times, no success, until finally I unchecked GLX from the video
configuration.
Now I get my NVIDIA splash screen and it comes up BUT I still have some
issues.
when I try to go to the system menu and run NVIDIA X server settings, the
hourglass spins, I see the NVIDIA box in the system tray, then it disappears.
also, when I run mplayer I get :
~$ mplayer
Segmentation fault
and nothing happens.
help!
