I do the chown routine because while her user NAME on the two systems 
was the same, her UID and GIDs (the numbers) weren't. The first attempt 
(without chowning things) was a failure - her UID on the new system 
couldn't do anything with the untarred files that belonged to her UID 
from the old system.

Silly Linux distros - can't even agree on whether the very first 
non-root numeric UID should be 500 or 1000! ;-)
