To whom it may concern...

Just a quick update about my problem:

I downloaded and installed vista update KB933928 
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933928)
and now msys shell runs normaly, msys binaries also, everything is back 
to normal...
The problem described above does not happen any more.

I guess these ms updates can sometimes be usefull after all, but the 
real question is will
I have the same problem after the next one...
