[Mingw-users] MinGW Windows installer: different behaviour on XP vs. 2K

Hi,

why does the installer (MinGW-5.1.3.exe) try to set up different versions
of the MinGW - distribution on different Windows systems?
To illustrate, here are relevant parts of the mingw.ini created on either
platform ([mingw] - sections are identical, [current] - sections are
different:

XP/SP2 (Intel):

[mingw]
Build=10
URL=http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw
Filename=MinGW-5.1.3.exe
packages=previous|current|candidate

[current]
runtime=mingw-runtime-3.12.tar.gz|5270
w32api=w32api-3.9.tar.gz|14480
binutils=binutils-2.16.91-20060119-1.tar.gz|15850
make=mingw32-make-3.81-2.tar.gz|720

Win2K (AMD):

[mingw]
Build=10
URL=http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mingw
Filename=MinGW-5.1.3.exe
packages=previous|current|candidate

[current]
runtime=mingw-runtime-3.11.tar.gz|5270
w32api=w32api-3.8.tar.gz|14480
binutils=binutils-2.15.91-20040904-1.tar.gz|13985
make=mingw32-make-3.80.0-3.tar.gz|1925

Maybe irrelevant, but i did my installation from downloaded *.tar.gz, i.e.
there's no need for MinGW-5.1.3.exe to access the Web.
I'd appreciate any explanations - thanks.
