Do I understand this correctly:
You are using "someone else's" (as in: not official MinGW) binaries ?

You know we provide an official set of (maintained) xcompiler scripts,
don't you ?

0. I have no idea but will start playing with a 4.2.1. xcompiler
   "real soon" (TM)
   However it won't be the debian package.
1. Presumably very few people here do use the debian packages (I always
   use "ours"). You are likely to have more luck when asking the
   relevant debian packager.
