What is not working with the cross-build procedure ?

I know the version on sourceforge and in CVS has issues with building
gcc-4.x but to all my knowledge it works like a charm when building
gcc 3.4.5 with current versions of the other required and/or optional
packages.

In fact locally I even have a version that successfully did a crossed
native build using gcc-3.4.5 et al.
