Yes: Since you're running Windows Vista, you need to use a more recent 
release of MinGW's GCC package which includes a fix for this problem. 
You'll need to download the language packages you want from 
<http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2435&package_id=82723&release_id=428244> 
and untar them on top of your existing installation.

Also, one of the MinGW devs with shell (and CVS?) access should update 
the installer INI so that this gcc-3.4.5-20060117-3 release is 
downloaded instead of the 3.4.5-20060117-1 release.
