I have the same sort of thing, with the JMicron controller on the board
because the Intel chipset doesn't support RAID whereas the JMicron one
does. I don't need RAID, so I disable that controller in the BIOS.
(That makes the rear eSATA port unusable, but I use the port on the
front of the case, connected to one of the Intel SATA ports on the
board.) I mention it because disabling the JMicron controller /might/
help.
Other than that, my only idea is to update the BIOS, but I wouldn't
risk that unless I were in desperate need of SATA.
