There's a significant difference.

He's demanding that I stop making support posts if that involves
replying to one of his.  (It was a support post of mine that set him
off this time.)

I'm asking him to consider not taking this into the support groups.
Now that he's made it clear that he /wants/ to post his demands  in the
support groups, I won't bother asking him to consider it again.

What I /will/ do is post support articles as I see fit, without regard
to his demands.  And I'll reply to his posts in m.general when I want,
without regard to his demands.  What I haven't and won't do is tell him
or ask him to stop posting his demands in m.general.  (And again note
that I haven't told him to stop it elsewhere, just asked him to
consider it once.)
