Are addons for FF OSs independent??
Will the addons which work on FF in MS Windows also work in Linus (Ubuntu)??


Most are independent and you can use them on any system.
"Launchy"  goes through the Windows registry to find other browsers, so is not
fully usable on Linux.   Most Linux users can use it with their own  .xml list.
Extensions used to be listed as which OS they could run on,  I can't find any such
list anymore ("improvement" in the search facility). 
Probably a question that would be better asked in mozilla.support.firefox as there
are a few extension developers that answer questions with proper titles like yours.

I looked at Compatibility reports for  "Menu Editor"  runs on  Mac, Linux, Windows
same as in previous versions.  Right now some problems with Windows 4 betas.
For "Launchy" only saw Windows users.   The actual purpose of the reporting is
to determine if the extension developer can just up the maxVers.
