Jay, you said that this new server will, eventually, switch its
name to
secnews.netscape.com and be on port 119. Will we have to wipe our
old
secnews profile and re-subscribe, or will we just change the port
number
on our current profile??
Daniel
I'll let you know when I know.
Thank you.

Devastating news ....
AOL was under the mistaken impression that we wanted to retain
secnews
as an archive, not to be posted to. Posting will not be allowed
according to them. In turn, I told them they may as well unplug it as
an archive it is completely useless. No idea where we go with this
from here. I registered my complaint, we'll go from there I guess
as I
can't force them to do ANYthing .... bah!!!!!
Jay
I knew it was too good to be true. Well it was good while it lasted.
Nice knowing all the folks on secnews.
You don't suppose someone from Mozilla got to them?
Well I guess we will all be welcome over at annexcafe Jay if you want
to sign up with Annexcafe its a authenticated server. We can do
mostly what we could on secnews. have be careful about copyrighted
material though. the group is
*annexcafe.phoenix.netscape.imaging* server is *news.annexcafe.com*
I have no idea why folks are unwilling to use annexcafe (maybe it's
the fact that you can't really be anonymous)
As far as copyright material, linking is OK, you just can't have
copywrite material "stored" on the server.

I'm fine with it. We just need to get everyone to go to a common place,
so we can keep in touch.
Anyone have Reg's email?
Terry R.
Don't know if it's the latest, but googlegroups from 2007 shows it to be:
squaredancerATt-online.de
correct, as far as I memember....
was back in hospital again - after the op end April, things looked
better, but deteriorated suddenly on Wednesday and I was emergencied in
on Thursday (1 st July.) Most probable cause was due to stopping the
cortison medication. That is back on now and it seems to be holding at a
reasonable dosage!
In my case, cortison is used to keep the fluid pressure in the cervical
cavities as low as possible, which in turn restricts the amount of
"drop-out" in several cognitive areas.
The latest reports are that the tumours (multiple count) were removed in
April/May but are expected to return in the future. Control MRT at
6-week intervals should be OK for watching that though.
Otherwies I'm getting on quite well - PITA is not being mobile and a
strict 'No Driving' - I get left-right-up-down mixed up due to the
tumours affecting the left (= logical) side, where the op was and the
damaged synapses (quasi 'nerve links' between brain cells) have to be
rebuilt or replaced.... which may take a bit of time (I never was one to
hurry things).
Life DOES go on, despite limitations, but as you learn to live with them
(and don't let the BAST...... win)... an icecream cone a day, a cold
beer in the evening (or two lol), out with the ladyfriend and her dog
and simply ignore whatever makes you miserable... at the moment, I'm
trying to ignore the demise/total loss of Secnews .
Thanks for staying around.
reg
Hi Reg
Good to hear from you, and sorry to hear of your health situation.
Keep up the good spirit!
