IMNSHO this is a bad idea, more so if enabled by default. I surely want
to see what options the compiler is using.
If you just want to skip the linking phase, add something like the
following line to the Makefile:
nolink: $(MPLAYER_DEPS) $(MENCODER_DEPS)
