Hi,
After re-checking everything, it seems the patch isn't needed for the latest 
SVN checkout. I must have missed the ./ when verifying, as the crackling is 
still present in the latest ubuntu package. How embarrassing.

This makes me wonder if the first if clause of the convert function in 
liba52/resample_c.c is necessary.
