Server Instance Setup Error

Hello

I just tried to install the mysql server and I am getting the 
following error messgae for the Apply Security Setting:

The security settings could not be applied.
Error number 1045
Access denied for use 'root@localhost' (using password:YES)

What does this mean and how do I fix it?
