Hello, my name is Francisco Demeter, I
get
problems with my webcam, the computer
freeze if I use the resolution
176x144, if I use 352x288 its works fine. It was
tested with spcaview.
I need to shut off my computer after that.

My system
configuration:

Kanotix linux, with kernel 2.6.15.6 with KDE
3.5.1
Webcam: Labtec, recognized as TV8532
Motherboard: Asus
K8N

It is some way to make it work with this resolution?

we need an oops output.

pls boot into single mode without klogd/syslogd
running and run $cat /dev/video >>
/dev/null

then move your hand slighty in front of the sensor to darken the
light
it should print a oops trace then. take screenphoto and compare
it with
the other oopses posted on this list lately. if it is new post
it.

better way is to attach another machine with serial cable and
minicom
and boot the camera machine with serial console. if it stalls
the
oops gets printed in minicom on the other machine.

read
/Documentaion/"serial console" about how to configure

lilo/grub.

example:
title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.16
(serial console)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.16
root=/dev/hda1 ro single console=ttyS0,57600n8
<-----
savedefault
boot

then use ksymoops to decode the
oops and post it here.

thx
