Hi Michel
I don't think that tracking or starting to align with the other webcam
groups necessarily means that we have to change strategic choices like
where in the driver we do the color space transforms.
If I've understood you correctly you are converging on an API to plug in
different bridge/sensor chipsets, so that should provide a good layer of
isolation between the higher level decode functions and the low level
hardware/wire protocol support. In that case, I could see us being able to
start to converge with other webcam drivers for that interface without
prejudicing our capability to make decisions above and below that
interface.
I must admit tho' I havn't looked at the code recently so my understanding
may be a bit off.
