Re: [Spca50x-devs] Sony Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC1

Hi Volkan,

I just tried the steps you mentioned, but had no success. Even if I
create the video0 device,
xawtv or any other application can't access it. I have no idea, though
the driver successfully loaded with:

usbcore: registered new driver spca5xx
drivers/usb/media/spca5xx/spca5xx-main.c: spca5xx driver 00.57.08 registered

sound good, doesn't it?

Does the spca5xx driver support the camera builtin the Sony VAIO VGN-FE
series?
lsusb shows:

Bus 005 Device 003: ID 0ac8:c002 Z-Star Microelectronics Corp.

As Shane Helms said:

It's USB controller is by Vimicro, VC0321 USB 2.0 PC camera controller.
It's part of the ZC0300 series, but differs from the supported
 ZC0301, ZC0301P and ZC0302 in that it's USB2.0 compatible.

I have a feeling this chipset is just the same as ZC030x but with
support for USB2.0 for higher image rate.

Can we get this thing to work?

Sincerely,

Sebastian Mauer
