Different subsystem was expected, but the rest wasn't --- though, that's 
because for some reason I was stuck thinking of the xc5000, as opposed 
to xc3028 ... (in addition, when I replied, I had completely forgot that 
you've already communicated information to the list over the last month 
or so). Still, I might have got some part right -- > although MPC583 
doesn't exactly match the one model number listed in the 800i article, 
it is fairly similar, and my wild guess would seem to be correct:

"It appears that it may be also being sold as the Yuan PG583Q. Yuan 
lists two models (PG583 and PG583Q) -- /simply a wild guess, but perhaps

So I wonder whether:
PG583 = MPC583 ~= KWorld 120/Geniatech X8000a
and
PG583Q = MPC583Q ~= Pinnacle 800i

There is also the DViCO FusionHDTV PCI nano, which, offhand, I can't 
remember is XC3028 or XC5000 based....stoth just added some support for 
it a couple of weeks ago, so it maybe worth your while investigating 
that one.

There is also some indication that Pinnacle have a XC3028 variant too
