Hi,

It's looking like mplayer is causing the fault.
tzap doesn't stop xawtv working.
Even tzap then cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 doesn't break it.
Both 'mplayer dvb://chn' and tzap then 'mplayer /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0'
stop xawtv from working.

That said, user space programs shouldn't really be able to break kernel
drivers.
Does anyone know what mplayer does other than read
/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0?
